Tonight, February 13th, Dave flies to Asunción, Paraguay. On Tuesday, the AG in this country will be having their Business Meeting, and it is expected that the Superintendent of Paraguay, Estanislao Candia, will be stepping down after some 30 years. Pray with us that the Lord will lead the pastors of Paraguay as the elect a new Superintendent.

Carol and I enjoyed our time at the Church Planter’s School that is organized by missionaries Rocco and Ellen DiTrolio, and the National Church Planters Department known as VEN. It was a great time with what we would call Argentina Missionaries, all of them church planters. Church planting is something the national leadership in the countries of the Southern Cone are asking us as missionaries to be involved in. And we agree with their vision, for the need to plant churches that plant churches if we are to reach the nations.

Dan McNaughton of Multi Church Movement was down to speak at the church planting school. It was great to brainstorm together, and consider ways to develop a church planting movement in the Southern Cone.

Carol and Dave attended a Compassion Forum in Kansas City, MO from August 16-19, 2011.  Compassion outreach is another ministry we would like to see further develop in the Southern Cone and we thought it prudent to attend this Forum put on by AGWM under the leadership of JoAnn Butrin.  It was a great time and we had the opportunity to also hear one of the missionaries in the Cone, Brandy Wilson, speak in a workshop.  Compassion outreach includes helping children attend school and receive basic supplies, abused women and children, trafficked women, at risk HIV/Aids populations.
